Getting your website on the first page of Google is your goal and you have started working on your SEO project. Now, if you have started implementing SEO without understanding the subject, you may start making some mistake.
Here are some most common SEO mistakes which I have seen in my SEO career. Don’t make such mistakes.

Don’t copy content from other websites

Never copy content from other websites, always write your own original content on that topic. If you don’t know how to write SEO friendly content, you can learn or hire agencies, freelancers or professionals to write SEO friendly content for you.
When you copy content from other websites, typically Google algorithms can detect duplicate content. Google algorithm may not rank your website for similar content.

• People copy content from Wikipedia
• They copy content from popular websites
• Use duplicate content on two websites.

Instead of using same content from other websites, you can use them for learning, research or references. You must write original content to gain top position in Google.

Never host your website on slow and cheap servers

If you host your websites on slow servers, cheap hosting service provider or on free servers, your website will load slow, it may not work many times, pages may not load and Google bot may not be able to index your content also. In this case, you will lose trust factor and Google algorithm will drop your ranking.

Many companies hire cheapest web developers or they give projects to cheapest website design companies. I have personally seen, many cheap people who make websites never focus on standards, they always try to get work done with “chalta hey attitude”. They don’t bother about HTML code, code to text ratio, W3 standards, URL structure, page load speed etc. They will just make the website for you and they are done.
Now when you will hire SEO professional for SEO work for such websites, they will recommend you to change your website design, structure and recommend you to get it done as per standards. unfortunately, you won’t do that because you have already spent money on making a website from some cheap people, now you don’t want to take those efforts, you don’t want to spend money.
You will not follow that recommendation and ask your SEO professional to rank defective website which is not possible in many cases.
If you want to get top ranking in Google, never hire cheap people, spend money on getting SEO friendly website, involve SEO professional to make a structure of your website.

Don’t experiment on your website.

This is one of the most common mistakes I have observed recently. I have seen many people read some SEO tips, download PDF, ask some beginners and start implementing SEO efforts. I have also seen some companies hire some beginner guy to save cost and that poor fellow starts learning SEO on their website by doing experiments.
He will stuff keywords in the title, he will add content on Description, start building links from the forum and submit sites to article and web directories. All these outdated techniques will spoil relevance, reputation, and trust of your website.
You may see the ranking for low competition keywords for few days but you won’t be able to maintain that ranking.
Instead, hire professional SEO and Digital Marketing expert who knows his job, he will guide you after doing a proper study of your website, keywords, competition etc.
Just to save few thousands, don’t take risk of losing business.
